The game is a direct sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the ninth mainline entry in the Like a Dragon series. This new game is developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. This game is a spin-off title Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name offering exciting story and gameplay. The game is set in Hawaii, the franchise’s first overseas location along with well-known locations in Japan. This game features two protagonists Ichiban Kasuga of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Kazuma Kiryu the primary protagonist of the series. Kiryu and Kasuga embark on an adventurous journey together in this new chapter while Kiryu fights cancer, Kasuga is searching for his mother in Hawaii.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth offers a turn-based combat system where players can control Kasuga and Kiryu. Also their respective party members can be controlled for combat. Every character has access to a variety of jobs, which function as classes and offer them unique benefits and playstyles.
There are also many new exciting features added to this game like Kasuga is tasked with running his own resort island at Happy Resort Dondoko Island, as a side project. Additionally, this game offers new minigames inside the game such as a dating app for Kasuga, a Pokémon parody game; and Miss Match, a food delivery game inspired by Sega’s Crazy Taxi franchise, etc.
